News Desk, News Nation 360 : Kolkata will host the 38th National Conference of the Indian Association of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics. There will be about 2,000 delegates at the conference, which takes place at the Science City Convention Centre and Complex from November 30 to December 3. During the first part of the conference, several pre-conference courses will also be offered to post-graduate dental students. Tooth decay, or dental caries, is becoming more common in both adults and children. If treatment is initiated promptly, it can be avoided. Furthermore, because tooth extraction is no longer necessary for treatment, conservative dentistry can help treat tooth decay once it has begun. In India, dental caries affects 54.16% of the population, according to statistics. Additionally, 62% of Indians over the age of 18 have dental caries. But tooth decay also affects kids and teenagers from the age of three to eighteen. According to statistics, dental caries affects 72% of people in western India. Dental caries affects 57% of people in North India, 56% in Central India, and 51% in South India. The leading organisation for dentists practising conservative dentistry in the nation is called IACED. Endodontics, a subspecialty of dentistry, employs conservative techniques to treat dental disease without extracting teeth. Endodontics is helpful for reducing dental pain, promoting the healing of hard dental tissues, and addressing cosmetic issues. However, the most recent statistics show that its prevalence in eastern India is relatively low, at 36%. However, there are more people suffering from dental caries here as well. Endodontists are very concerned about dental caries, so the conference will also go into great detail about how it can be avoided. One of the key elements of conservative dentistry, root canal treatment (RCT), is a significant subject that will be covered in-depth at the conference. Thus, the purpose of this conference is to disseminate the advantages of preventive dentistry and newly developed treatment techniques while also raising public awareness of them. The organizer of the conference, Dr. Debashish Banerjee said that utilising contemporary technology and implementing several novel conservative dentistry techniques at the conference, a number of papers on the subject of how much can be modernised will be read. More than a thousand papers and poster presentations from post-graduate students will be used to share their experiences. Consequently, endodontics and conservative dentistry will enrich and benefit dental professionals as well as patients experiencing dental pain. Many such patients will find some relief from their pain thanks to this conference.
