A 1 MW Floating Solar Plant in West Bengal is Put into Service by Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Ltd.

As part of its transition to renewable energy, the company recently put a 1MW floating solar power plant into operation at its Panagarh facility in West Bengal. Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals has installed a 1MW floating solar power plant within its premises, marking a significant step towards energy efficiency and environmental responsibility. This initiative aligns with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for a renewable energy-powered India and aims to reduce Matix's carbon footprint. This plant is expected to supply 5% of the company's energy. It is the first phase of a larger plan to switch to renewable sources of energy in the coming years. Besides producing clean energy, this innovative solution also reduces water evaporation from the water body, which is a vital resource for the steam production processes of the plant. This dual-purpose approach shows

how advanced technology can effectively address both energy and resource management challenges. Reflecting on this, Nishant Kanodia, Chairman of Matix Fertilisers and Chemicals Limited, stated that another step in their ongoing effort to incorporate sustainability into their operations is this floating solar plant. They've already made significant progress in energy efficiency, greening, and water saving. In addition to lowering their carbon footprint, they hope to significantly advance Bharat's environmental objectives by utilising renewable energy. The foundation of their future vision is sustainability, and this 1MW is an additional step in the direction of a greener matrix.
