Airtel's Nxtra Delivers its Sustainability Report for FY 23-24

News Desk, News Nation 360 : A subsidiary of Bharti Airtel (Airtel), Nxtra Data Limited (also known as "Nxtra by Airtel"), released the second edition of its Sustainability Report for the fiscal year 2023–2024. The study emphasises how Nxtra has been focussing more and more on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors. It outlines Nxtra's plans to construct digital infrastructure that is ready for the future, sustainable in design, and engineered to support high-density workloads and provide smooth scalability to clients, hence facilitating their growth. The company made significant strides in sustainability and diversity in the past year. Renewable energy usage increased by 41%, reaching 220,541 MWh, while Scope 1 and 2 emissions decreased by 4% despite a 25% increase in power consumption. The company also promoted gender diversity, with women's representation increasing by 30%. The NxtWave initiative was launched to further boost women's representation in engineering, aiming to double it by FY26. Additionally, the company achieved 4.3 million safe-man hours in construction and ensured responsible sourcing with 99% local procurement. Ashish Arora, CEO – Nxtra by Airtel stated that data centres' future depends on their capacity to integrate sustainability and intelligent infrastructure. From the beginning, the construction and management of their data centre have been reliant on the incorporation of cutting-edge ESG measures into their business model. They have consistently improved in all three sustainability parameters—environment, social, and governance—during the year, as their sustainability report shows, and they will continue to make this their main area of concentration.
