News Desk, News Nation 360 : The eighth Tata Steel Kolkata 25K, set for Sunday, December 17, 2023, is preparing to enthral the city of joy with its hashtag, #AamarKolkataAamarRun. A runner who has competed in numerous races and is skilled at setting pace is known as a pace-setter.
A pacer is a dedicated runner who leads a group of runners from the start to the finish at the scheduled time and can maintain a steady pace throughout the distance in a selfless act. The runner will be guided by the pacer to ensure that those who wish to finish by their bus time do so. There is a margin of one minute or more. For example, between 01:59 and 02:01, the Pacer on the 02hr bus will complete the race. A 14-person all-women pacer team for the 10K race and a 15-person Defence Forcers pacer team for the 25K race will lead the amateurs as they get ready to put on their best show on race day, making sure they have set personal bests. The 14-person women's 10K squad is made up of runners from Kolkata, Lucknow, and New Delhi. These women have chosen to give up their schedules for the good of others.
They are professionals, stay-at-home moms, and active athletes. Vivek Singh, Jt MD Procam International has stated that the response to the Tata Steel Kolkata 25K has been humbling, as people are training for the run with unparalleled fervour.
