News Desk, News Nation 360 : Initiating the BV Doshi Memorial Exhibition at Kalavaani, Swabhumi, on August 30th was Harshavardhan Neotia, Chairman of Ambuja Neotia. Opening hours for this two-week show are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends through September 15th. It honours the remarkable legacy of the visionary urban planner, architect, and teacher Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi. Doshi's leadership and forward-thinking concepts have had a significant influence on Ambuja Neotia's design ethos and initiatives. The BV Doshi Memorial Exhibition honours his lasting influence by showcasing works by architects who were either closely linked with him or greatly affected by him, and who have found great inspiration in his human-centred approach to building. Regarded as a trailblazer of Indian modernism, BV Doshi's remarkable career lasted almost 70 years, during which he accomplished more than 100 innovative projects, such as affordable housing, schools, libraries, and art centres. Ambuja Neotia and the government collaborated to build Udayan, the city's first condo community, which serves as an example of his particularly significant impact on Kolkata. HUDCO named Udayan a Model Housing Project, and it broke social housing records. Shri Doshi's philosophy has had a considerable impact on the careers of prominent Ahmedabadi architects Neelkanth Chhaya, Sohan Nilkanth, and Kallol Joshi, whose work is on display in this first exhibition. Sensible design and sustainability were essential components of Doshi's architectural philosophy, and their work reflects this dedication.
