Bengal Fruit & Food Festival Honours Variety in Fruits and Culinary Arts

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Inspired by West Bengal's Honourable Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, the Department of Food Processing Industry and Horticulture, Government of West Bengal, is pleased to announce the "Bengal Fruit & Food Festival," which will feature a variety of culinary delights, exotic fruits, and produce from the region. The absence of this Department's customary mid-June "Mango Mela" gives rise to this unusual celebration. June is considered mango season, but it was not possible to hold "Mango Mela" in June 2024 due to the enforcement of the Model Code of Conduct for the recently finished Parliamentary Election. Eight distinguished ministers from different departments will be present at the August 9, 2024, inauguration ceremony. The program will be formally launched by Shri Arup Roy, the Hon'ble Minister-in-Charge of the FPI&H Dept. Below is a comprehensive list of the Honourable Ministers. Every evening during the festival, there will be interesting cultural programs that will enhance the joyous atmosphere. Among the distinguished performers in our cultural program are folk singer Shri Swapan Basu, singer Alok Roy Chowdhury, singer Smt. Pranati Thakur, singer Satinath Mukhopadhyay, and versatile singer Shri Soumi Ghosh. This three-day spectacle, which is set to take place in Kolkata's Netaji Indoor Stadium from August 9 to 11, 2024, promises to be a colourful celebration of Bengal's rich horticulture legacy and culinary diversity. In addition to showcasing a variety of exotic fruits, the festival seeks to provide guests with a great culinary experience. A vibrant festival showcasing West Bengal's rich cultural heritage and developmental strides is being organized. It features a diverse array of stalls representing agriculture, artisanship, and education, offering attendees a comprehensive experience of the region's rural life, economy, and cultural tapestry. Additionally, around 30 stalls will be dedicated to commercial entities, providing food, confectioneries, and other products. Beyond entertainment, the event aims to educate the public about sustainable horticulture and food processing, fostering discussions on these crucial topics and inspiring future practices.
