News Desk, News Nation 360 : GNIHM (Guru Nanak Institute of Hotel Management), a JIS Group Educational Initiative, held its annual Traditional Cake Mixing Ceremony, "Merry Mixing," at the GNIHM grounds, bringing the holiday spirit to life as Christmas approaches. Renowned celebrity chef Kunal Kapur and other distinguished personalities graced this lively event, which honoured
the ancient custom of cake making, which has evolved beyond its Christian roots to become a beloved holiday custom throughout India. Speaking on the occasion, Sardar Simarpreet Singh, Director of JIS Group, stated that GNIHM always support holistic education. Their students have the chance to practise their technical skills in a fun and festive setting while learning the value of customs through events like 'Merry Mixing'. To get ready for Christmas, the ceremony gathered together staff, instructors, and students. Almonds, raisins, orange and lemon peels, dates, dried apricots, figs, walnuts, cashews, and pistachios were among the various dry fruits they combined. To make the ideal foundation for classic Christmas plum cakes, these components were soaked in a mixture of spirits and allowed to ferment over the following month. The ceremony was a vibrant event that blended fun, tradition, and developing culinary skills. Additionally, it gave students important knowledge about the technical and cultural facets of festive baking, which is an essential component of their hospitality education.
