In attendance were Debashis Kumar, the MIC of Kolkata Municipal Corporation, as well as Samrat Mukhopadhyay, the writer, and Prantik Chowdhury, the director. Sayan Ghosh, Nancy, and Samrat Biswas were among the cast members in attendance. On August 16, a select group of distinguished Kolkata residents will be the only audience members for the much awaited theatrical production of "Debi Chaudhurani." The event will have two public showings on August 17 at 3 and 6:30 p.m. A unique and remarkable achievement, this combination of well-known performers from the Jatra and theatrical worlds promises an amazing experience for everyone in attendance. Kolkata's birthday week and India's Independence Week are being celebrated with a modern theatrical adaptation of Bankimchandra Chattopadhyay's "Debi Chaudhurani," directed by Prantik Chowdhury. This production, infused with a contemporary perspective by Samrat Mukherjee, pays homage to the novel's historical significance and the legacy of Mahendra Gupta, the founder of Star Theatre, whose family continues to support the arts. The event aims to immerse the audience in India's rich history and culture through a captivating stage performance, while also commemorating the 40th anniversary of Mahendra Gupta's passing and acknowledging his family's contributions to Bengali theater. Prantik Chowdhury stated in a thoughtful manner that Debi Chaudhurani symbolises a dream come true for him. He consider the cast members to be nothing less than idols, and he can't wait to see how their abilities come together. He has no doubt that this show will leave a lasting impression on the history of theatre.
