News Desk, News Nation 360 : The sight of night jasmines, the legendary Mahisasurmardini by Birendra Krishna Bhadra, the catkin flowers swinging in the breeze, or the labourers working nonstop to finish the pandal works—all of these enhance the excitement of Bengal's largest celebration honouring Durga Puja. As the city's streets and alleyways fill with tens of thousands of people for Pandal hopping, crowd control becomes crucial. Eveready's special campaign, which strives to spread messages in the public interest while keeping women's safety in mind, especially in crowded areas, commemorates the commencement of Devi Paksha this Durga Puja. Eveready's initiative, "Eveready Siren - Pujoy Awaaj Tolar Power," launched during Durga Puja, aligns with the festival's celebration of women's power and addresses the ongoing conversation around women's safety. The initiative promotes the Eveready Siren Torch, a device that emits a 100-decibel alarm to help people in vulnerable situations raise awareness. Partnering with popular Kolkata Durga Puja pandals such as Dumdum Park Tarun Sangha, Hindustan Park, and Jodhpur Park-95 Pally, Eveready will replace traditional male announcers with female voices, delivering witty, safety-focused messages to encourage respectful behaviour. Nationally renowned singer Usha Uthup and Bengali actress Ritabhari Chakraborty will broadcast these messages, addressing everyday issues faced by women in crowded spaces. Some of the key messages include thanking people for maintaining order and discouraging unwanted advances, advising against inappropriate behaviour, and reminding attendees to take care of both their valuables and values. Additionally, the initiative features a Siren Squad of volunteers, ensuring women's safety and crowd management at these pandals, with volunteers sporting T-shirts bearing these safety messages. Anirban Banerjee, Senior Vice President & Business Unit Head - Battery & Flashlight stated that Eveready has created the Siren Torch to empower women to feel capable of self-defence. Their goal with this campaign is to help women feel safe during Bengal's largest festival. They are grateful that notable figures like Usha Uthup and Ritabhari Chakraborty are lending their voices to this vital cause.
