The occasion emphasised the value of community and the delight of sharing breakfast with others. The Iftar event at Five & Dime in Kolkata on Wednesday, March 26, 2025, reflected the Ramadan practice of breaking the daytime fast with family, friends, and the broader community, and provided a moment of bonding over traditional fare, and was hosted by prominent invitees such as S. Dashmeshbir Singh (Chirag) of IHA Foundation and United Interfaith Foundation-India, S. Narinder Singh of United Interfaith Foundation-India and Sri Guru Singh Sabha, Satnam Singh Ahluwalia of the West Bengal Minorities Commission, Arunjyoti Bhiku Maharaj, Sadique Zia of the WB Minority Cell, and Paromita Ghosh, Director, Candid by Paromita. Speaking about the event, Apeksha Lahiri, Owner of Five & Dime, stated that Ramadan is a season of introspection, giving, and community. They wanted Five & Dime to be a place where people could gather, eat together, and enjoy the spirit of the event. They appreciate their distinguished guests' attendance and the warmth they added to this evening.
