News Desk, News Nation 360 : Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa Dr. Pramod Sawant at ABP Network’s Ideas of India 2025 stated that the Kumbh Mela shouldn't have a VIP culture. Everyone should have access to amenities and safety, and the Kumbh already has them. Speaking about rumours that tourism in Goa has declined, the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, stated that this isn't true. Some influencers are trying to change people's opinions about Goa as a top travel destination. They are looking into it, but this is not the right place to talk about which influencer is to blame. Goa continues to be a clean and safe vacation spot, drawing tourists who come to take in the sea, beach, and sun. In addition, while Goa's beaches and churches used to be its primary draws, tourists now travel there to see its temples. To serve both domestic and foreign travellers, they are growing and improving their ports and airports. They are currently in fourth place for the Sustainable Development Goals, and their goal is to be at the top by 2030. Addressing ABP Network's Ideas of India 2025 in the session Conscious Development – Making Governance Ecologically Sensitive, Hon'ble Chief Minister of Goa, Dr. Pramod Sawant, went on to reiterate Goa's dedication to hosting guests, carrying the essence of 'Atithi Devo Bhava,' without any travel or food restrictions. He mentioned a recent increase in aged tourists visiting Goa for spiritual tourism and assured that the state continues to be among the safest and most secure regions, even after negative incidents in the past, which have been dealt with by taking strong steps, such as strengthening the police and cyber police departments. Dr Sawant also thanked him for being the longest-serving minister, crediting it to the blessings of Prime Minister Modi and his leadership ability. While appreciating Goa's development on various parameters, he noted that the state is still in need of major development. Previously dependent on mining, Goa has been tourism-dependent for a long time, with heavy tourist arrivals, especially during New Year. He stated that attempts have been made to decongest crowded coastal areas, but the tourist arrivals are still high, as seen during the 2024-25 New Year season.
