Grand Celebration of Indo-French Cinema Marked the Conclusion of the French Film Festival Kolkata 2025

News Desk, News Nation 360 : In collaboration with the Consulate General of France in Kolkata, the Alliance française du Bengale and Nandan: West Bengal Film Centre organised the second edition of the French Film Festival Kolkata, which came to a dramatic end on March 1st, 2025. The festival effectively reaffirmed its status as an essential cultural link between the two countries by showcasing more than 80 films from both French and Indian cinema. The closing ceremony of the film festival, held at Nandan, celebrated a successful transfer of cinematic ideas between India and France, including an evening of reflection on the impact of the festival and the increase of ties

through Indo-French collaborations, dignitaries including Didier Talpain, Consul General of France in Kolkata, with Nicolas Facino, Director of Alliance française du Bengale; the status of the films ran through diverse genres, providing glimpses into the landscape of cinema from both countries, with masterclasses, panel discussions, and interactive sessions for budding filmmakers and enthusiasts being further enlivened by the presence of luminaries like Nandita Das, Huma Qureshi, Sudhir Mishra, David Foenkinos, Anjan Dutt, Rituparna Sengupta, Dechen Roder, Mukesh Chhabra, Richa Sharma, Pritimoy Chakraborty, and Sharmistha Banerjee, who contributed to the discussions and RoP, thus providing an opportune place for cultural exchange, innovation, and artistic excellence.
