News Desk, News Nation 360 : It's finally time to start baking plum cakes with nuts, fruits, and spices. A lavish cake-mixing ceremony was held today in the lush lawn of Ibiza the Fern Resort & Spa in Kolkata, where guests were bathed in sunlight and the allure of the breathtaking month of December. A galaxy of celebrities attended the Ibiza Cake Mixing Ceremony, including singer Soumitra Ray, actress Kuyasha Biswas, actress Sonalee Chaudhury, and actress Swastika Dutta.
The guests and celebrities were given aprons, gloves, and Santa caps before the cake mixing started. Subsequently, the chefs, other hotel personnel, and guests gathered to combine the ingredients. Pouring the spirits into a large container containing the fruits and nuts was the first step in the process. After that, the mixture was tossed and turned until the spirit was all over them. The atmosphere of the gathering was greatly enhanced by the live crooning and Christmas décor. The hotel's culinary experts then prepared a delectable spread to cap off the celebrations with the ideal amount of cheer and Christmas spirit. The task of combining 12 litres of wine, brandy, vodka, rum, whisky, beer and 35 kg of various fruits was enormous! The mixture will steep for nearly 30 days prior to the baking of their unique Christmas cakes, puddings, and Dundee cakes.
Zaffar Rahman, the EAM (F&B) and Subhadip Basu, the general manager of Ibiza The Fern Resort & Spa in Kolkata, started the cake mixing. Rolling up their sleeves and donning their Christmas hats, other chefs, resort employees, residents, and out-of-town guests dove into an abundance of dry fruits, nuts, raisins, and syrups. Subhadip Basu, GM - Ibiza the Fern Resort & Spa Kolkata said that an age-old custom in the Western world that heralds the start of harvest season is cake mixing. Here, they have fully embraced the culture that ushers in the Christmas festival. It's also a custom carried out to greet joy and wealth. The cake tastes better the more hands that are involved.
