
News Desk, News Nation 360 : At a press announcement in Kolkata, the Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC) announced the 2025 Centenary Marathon Run. On February 23, 2025, the event will commemorate a century of ICC's history and encourage sportsmanship and fitness. It will be a historic milestone. Anirban Dutta, Secretary, IFA & Member, ICC Sports Committee; Sanjay K. Jain, MD, T.T Limited & Chairman, ICC National Textiles Committee; and Dr Rajeev Singh, Director General, ICC, were among the dignitaries who attended the announcement. They also disclosed the names of well-known athletes and notable figures who will participate in the much-awaited marathon. To strengthen ICC's dedication to promoting a culture of sports and well-being, the Centenary Marathon seeks to unite professional athletes, business executives, and fitness aficionados. The Indian Chamber of Commerce (ICC), one of the country's leading national chambers headquartered in Kolkata, is hosting the ICC Centenary Marathon with the theme "Run with Passion, Celebrate with Legacy," commemorating a century of the organization's impact on business and society. The competition will be divided into two race events: an 11 KM professional competitive run and a 3.5 KM run for people aged 18 to 60 years, with cash prizes given to encourage competition, the 11 KM champions being awarded ₹20,000, ₹15,000, and ₹10,000, and the 3.5 KM champions being awarded ₹10,000, ₹7,000, and ₹5,000 for first, second, and third places, respectively. The marathon will start at 5:30 AM from Red Road and proceed through a picturesque course beginning at Mohammedan Sporting Club and ending at George Telegraph Sports Club, coincidentally also celebrating its 100th birthday. The flag-off ceremony will be attended by a star-studded list of personalities, viz., Aankur Patni, Jyotirmoyee Sikdar, Pranati Das, Rahul Banerjee, Dr Sutapa Roy, Chaitali Das, Md. Iqbal, Kalyan Kar, Deblina Kumar, Debdut Roychowdhury, and Sangita Sinha, lending stature to the event. With the likely participation of over 1,200 runners, the ICC Centenary Marathon is set to be a notable mix of sportsmanship and historical pomp.
