In the fight against HIV/AIDS, the program sought to increase awareness, encourage early discovery, and offer critical treatment and direction. The program underlined the hospital's dedication to dismantling barriers and guaranteeing healthcare inclusion, which is in line with this year's World AIDS Day theme that emphasises community engagement and easily accessible medical care. Krishna Kumar Gupta, Chairman of the Jagannath Gupta Institute of Medical Sciences & Hospital, presided over the event, which aimed to dispel the stigma associated with HIV/AIDS while arming attendees with vital information and tools. In addition to testing, the hospital's committed medical staff held educational workshops and counselling sessions, fostering a secure and encouraging atmosphere to assist participants in realising the importance of early detection and implementing safer behaviours. Speaking about the initiative, Krishna Kumar Gupta stated that they reached out to an underserved community on World AIDS Day. They wanted to raise awareness and promote timely testing, which is essential for managing and stopping the spread of HIV, by interacting with the women of Sonagachi. Their hospital aspires to a society in which everyone has access to healthcare without facing discrimination or shame.
