News Desk, News Nation 360 : Kerala Tourism has received numerous international and national awards post-pandemic, including being declared as the second 'Most Welcoming Region' by Booking.com in its 13th Annual Travellers Review Awards, and is further strengthening its image as a destination for adventure tourism by organizing international Surfing, Paragliding (March 19-23, 2025 at Vagamon, Idukki), and Mountain Cycling (MTB Kerala 2025 on March 28-30, 2025 at Mananthavadi, Wayanad) championships in February-March 2025; the state offers a distinct bouquet of experiences to visitors, such as houseboats, caravan holidays, plantation trips, jungle
retreats, homestays, Ayurveda-inspired wellness, adventure sports, and rural strolls, which has led to a sharp surge in domestic tourist arrivals, overtaking pre-pandemic arrivals in 2022 and breaking records in 2023, with over 1 crore arrivals during the first half of 2024, and international tourist arrivals are also expected to touch pre-COVID numbers in 2025; to make the most of the expected domestic influx during the upcoming summer holiday season, Kerala Tourism has lined up several travel trade networking events, including B2B roadshows throughout India to showcase new tourism products and active participation in the mainline trade fairs. Tourism Minister PA
Mohamed Riyas stated that they will be introducing new items ahead of domestic visitors by focusing on school holidays and family audiences as the summer holiday season draws near. This time around, in addition to lesser-known locations with far better infrastructure, the campaign will pay special attention to North Kerala, particularly Wayanad, Bekal, Kannur, and Kozhikode. Kerala's tourism has long been a thriving industry, thanks in large part to domestic travellers. This has been the main goal of our nationwide marketing initiatives, which have aimed to strengthen the state's standing as an all-season experiential travel destination for a wide variety of tourists.
