The purpose of April 19th is to raise awareness of liver illnesses and liver health maintenance. Dr. Kushan Sengupta, a consultant gastroenterologist, and Dr. Debottam Bandyopadhay, a gastroenterologist at Manipal Hospital in
Dhakuria, provided insightful commentary on liver health. The participants heard a discussion about liver disease prevention, lifestyle changes, and liver health maintenance. All attendees had a forum to learn how to maintain liver health thanks to the Q&A session. Dr. Debottam Bandyopadhay, a consultant gastroenterologist, stated that since "Food is Medicine" is the theme for World Liver Day 2025, people must focus on living a healthy lifestyle. It's crucial to keep an eye on how much food people eat; people should cut back on junk food and increase their intake of fresh fruits and vegetables so that everyone to recognise the early warning signals and promptly seek medical attention. He talked about the signs and symptoms of liver diseases, such as itchy skin, limb swelling, urine and skin yellowing, and chronic weariness.
