News Desk, News Nation 360 : The first ever such medical achievement in Howrah is seen from Narayana Health where doctors have successfully replanted the arm of a 37-year-old factory worker, who was severely injured in an industrial accident. This patient had arrived at the hospital in a critical state with a traumatic amputation above the elbow. Led by Dr. Aditya Kanoi, the team of experts cleaned and preserved the severed arm before undergoing an 8-hour surgery. The surgery involved reconnecting the bones, arteries, veins, nerves, muscles, tendons, and skin of the arm. The post-surgery patient received critical care, which included blood transfusions, wound management, and psychiatric counselling. Gradually, once the wounds healed and the bones formed, physiotherapy began to revive mobility and functions in the replanted arm. Narayana Health's success with replantation surgery underscores the quality of medical care the group has established and is advancing with innovations in surgical science. Tapani Ghosh, Facility Director of Narayana Health, Howrah, remarked that this story serves as a powerful illustration of the remarkable powers of contemporary medicine. This journey has been both difficult and motivating, from the terrifying moment the patient came to their hospital to seeing his improvement. The patient's perseverance and the team's unwavering efforts have transformed a near-tragic event into a tale of healing and hope. They at Narayana Health in Howrah take pride in being at the forefront of providing cutting-edge healthcare that genuinely changes people's lives.
