
News Desk, News Nation 360 : The MSME-Development & Facilitation Office, Kolkata, under the Ministry of MSME, Government of India, organized a National Level IP Yatra Programme, a two-day IP Workshop, held at Hotel Hindusthan International in Kolkata from March 19th, 2025, to tomorrow, March 20th, 2025, to realize the Government of India's vision of creating the MSME Innovative Scheme, which strategically combines initiatives for incubation, design intervention, and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) protection to ultimately enhance the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises and transform them into National and International Champions; the inauguration of this significant National Level IP Yatra Programme for MSMEs was graced by

presence of several eminent personalities, including Vijay Bharti, IAS, Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology and Biotechnology, Government of West Bengal; Dr Tapas Kumar Bandyopadhyay, Professor at IIT Kharagpur; Pramathesh Sen, Joint Controller of Patents & Designs and Head of office at the Patent Office Kolkata; N. Babu, Deputy Registrar of Trade Marks and Geographical Indications (G.I.) and Head of the office at the Trade Marks office, Kolkata; and P. K. Das, Joint Director & Head of Office at MSME-DFO, Kolkata, among many other distinguished guests. On this occasion, P. K. Das, Joint Director & HoO, MSME-DFO, Kolkata expressed his satisfaction with organizing this event for exclusive benefits of MSMEs for the State of West Bengal. He also informed that more than 300 MSMEs are expected to participate in the Programme. Sharing his views, he stated that to raise awareness of India's innovation and inspire MSMEs to become MSME Champions, the Indian government has implemented several measures to increase the competitiveness of MSMEs through IPR, a novel concept for MSMEs that combines design intervention, innovation incubation, and IPR protection in a single mode. This serves as a centre for innovation activities, assisting and directing the transformation of concepts into workable business plans that can directly benefit society and be effectively sold.
