News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Friends of Tribals Society's youth branch, FTS Yuva, hosted its annual flagship event, the Ekal Run, at Godrej Waterside in Kolkata today. Over 5000 people participated in the marathon in their preferred timed run categories, which included 21km, 10km, 5km, and a non-timed/fun run of 3km. The run attracted participants of all ages. The Ekal Run was inaugurated by Navdeep Singh, Paralympic Athlete and Javelin Thrower and was attended by Rahul Dev Bose, Actor; Vineet Kansal, General Manager at RP Sanjiv Goenka Group; Richa Singh Debgupta, Chief of Strategy & Operations at Fortis Healthcare; Brig. Speaking to the media, Gaurav Bagla, President of FTS Yuva, Kolkata Chapter stated that they are genuinely thrilled to have seen the amazing turnout and excitement at the 6th Edition of the Ekal Run. With more than 5000 participants, this race never fails to uplift the City of Joy's spirit of solidarity and resiliency. Having Paralympic gold medallist Navdeep Singh, whose story exemplifies the strength of tenacity, kick off this year's marathon was an honour. That day's fundraising would significantly aid Ekal Vidyalayas in providing education for tribal youngsters in rural India. They appreciate the steadfast support of all of their sponsors, volunteers, and participants. One step at a time, they are working together to make a significant difference.
