Navdeep Singh will Officially Launch the Sixth Edition of the FTS Yuva-organized Ekal Run

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Friends of Tribals Society's (FTS) youth branch, FTS Yuva, is thrilled to announce the sixth iteration of its premier event, the Ekal Run, which will take place on January 12, 2025, at Godrej Waterside in Kolkata. Navdeep Singh, the Indian para-athlete and javelin thrower who won a gold medal at the 2024 Paralympics, will kick off the competition this year. The event, which includes many categories, including a 21km, 10km, 5km, and a non-timed 3km fun run, is anticipated to draw over 5,000 participants. It is open to persons of all ages and fitness levels. The Ekal Run is more than simply a competition; it's a campaign to generate money for the Ekal Vidyalaya, which educates children in rural areas. In previous iterations, the event has attracted a great deal of support and excitement, bringing together individuals from many backgrounds to support education and child empowerment in rural and tribal communities.

Navdeep Singh, a world-class para-athlete, has inspired the nation with his journey from adversity to triumph. In 2024, he made history by winning India's first-ever javelin gold at the Paris Paralympic Games and also secured a bronze medal at the World Championships. Despite facing significant physical challenges, Singh's determination and dedication have established him as a symbol of resilience for athletes and aspiring individuals globally. Speaking about the event, Gaurav Bagla, President of FTS Yuva, Kolkata Chapter stated that It is a privilege for them to have Navdeep Singh kick off the sixth Ekal Run. His remarkable accomplishments exemplify the attitude of tenacity and will that Ekal Run represents. In addition to providing a venue for physical health and friendship, this event continues to promote the education of rural children throughout India. In support of this admirable goal, Ekal Run unites athletes, communities, and individuals to push their limits.
