NIP NGO & Rotary Clubs of District 3291 Hosted Braille Competition

News Desk, News Nation 360 : NIP - An Education & Cultural Centre for the Blind & other Differently Abled, in partnership with Rotary Clubs of District 3291, successfully arranged a Braille competition for blind and differently abled people as a historic event marking the 200th anniversary of Braille. The celebration of Louis Braille's heritage and his revolutionary system that enables the visually impaired society globally took place at the centre in Kolkata. A recent gathering in Kolkata, hosted by prominent citizens such as Dr Krishnendu Gupta, Amar Mitra, Kalyan Sen Barat, Samir Aich, Atin Basak, Debapratim Dasgupta (Taju), Sham Khapa, and Tapasi Bawlani, was a touching tribute to the legacy of Louis Braille on the 200th anniversary of the Braille system, which has been a vital means of giving the blind access to education, literature, and social life; the function included a Braille competition and the history of Braille tracing its roots to the early 1800s when Louis Braille modified Charles Barbier's Night Writing code, underscoring the groundbreaking effect of the code; through celebrating Braille's achievement, the function reinforced a commitment towards inclusivity and equality for individuals with disabilities, underlining the continued worldwide importance of Braille in empowering millions and enriching lives. Debjyoti Roy, Secretary of NIP, expressed his excitement about the event and stated that The Braille competition is an attempt to honour the abilities and tenacity of blind and differently abled people. In addition to giving them a chance to shine, it propagates the ideas of inclusion, independence, and equality for all.
