News Desk, News Nation 360 : In a little over two weeks, the world's first World Athletics Gold Label 25-kilometer race, the Tata Steel World 25-K Kolkata, will make history when it starts on Sunday, December 15, 2024, from the famous Red Road. Legendary cricketer Jhulan Goswami, football star Sol Campbell, and Tollywood star Koushani Mukherjee will join runners from all over the world for #AamarKolkataShonarKolkata. The historic Victoria Memorial is the backdrop for this event, which has a prize pool of USD 142,214. The 10K race has already attracted huge interest from the running community and is now oversubscribed. The registrations for the feature 25K race, Ananda Run, Senior Citizen Run, and Champions with Disability categories are open until November 29th, 2023, or until all running places are filled. Running is becoming increasingly popular in India, and the Kolkata 25K is expected to be one of the city's biggest sporting events. Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled, one of India's most prominent NGOs in empowering persons with disabilities, will be the Champions with Disability Facilitator for the 9th edition of the Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata. The event will celebrate the extraordinary achievements of 25K finishers with a unique 'Medal of Steel' from Tata Steel, symbolizing strength, determination, and the indomitable human spirit. All finishers across different categories will be given Finisher Medals and certificates. T10, the sportswear partner for the event, will offer special merchandise for participants of 25K and 10K. Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force will compete for the Vijay Diwas Trophy on the day of Vijay Diwas. Kolkata Police will participate in the Police Cup to show off their sporting skills. Tata Steel World 25K Kolkata promises to be a great and inclusive event of the year, celebrating the strength and greatness of sport in human endeavour.
