News Desk, News Nation 360 : Thalassaemia and cancer do not indicate the end of life or the countdown to death. Over a hundred people talked about overcoming these obstacles to live regular lives. These people previously had a history of serious blood malignancies or genetic conditions such as thalassaemia. After receiving their diagnosis, many people had given up, but with the right care, they found hope again and eventually led healthy, regular lives again. They are now leading happy lives after reintegrating into society. The Ujjiban Patient Survivor Meet 2025, organized by the Picnic Gardens Leela Seva Society, was held Saturday at Mahajati Sadan in Kolkata. Hundreds of cancer and thalassemia survivors who had been successfully treated by renowned haematologist-oncologist, Dr. Soumya Bhattacharya, attended the event. The main purpose was to inspire those still fighting these life-threatening diseases by showing the inspiring journeys of recovery. Participants shared their personal experiences, saying that not only is recovery possible, but it's entirely feasible to return to a normal life after overcoming these challenges. The event also featured various cultural programs, creating a platform for these individuals to connect and celebrate their triumphs over adversity. Dr Soumya Bhattacharya stated that these individuals are living examples of how even the most complex cancers and thalassemia can be cured with accurate diagnosis and proper treatment.
