PM Narendra Modi will Kick Off the UN International Year of Cooperatives in 2025 at the ICA Global Cooperative Conference

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The Hon'ble Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, will officially launch the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives 2025, according to a news conference coordinated by IFFCO Limited, the Ministry of Cooperation, the Government of India, and the International Cooperative Alliance. India is poised to host the United Nations International Year of Cooperatives 2025 as a global milestone. The event will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi from November 25th to 30th, 2024 at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. For the first time in the 130-year history of the International Cooperative Alliance (ICA), India will host the ICA General Assembly and Global Cooperative Conference, at the initiative of IFFCO. The conference, themed "Cooperatives Build Prosperity for All," will focus on discussions around key issues in areas like enabling policy and entrepreneurial ecosystems, nurturing purposeful leadership, reaffirming cooperative identity, and shaping the future of the cooperative movement. Union Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, will grace the first session of the Global Cooperative Conference. The event will also mark the release of a commemorative postage stamp for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025. Prime Minister of Bhutan, Dasho Tshering Tobgay, and Deputy Prime Minister of Fiji, Manoa Kamikamika, would also be special guests of honour for the ceremony. The Rochdale Pioneers Award 2025 will be presented to individuals/organizations for outstanding contributions to the cooperative movement. The host organization IFFCO will highlight the products and services of Indian cooperatives through a special 'Haat' setup that exhibits the theme of Indian villages. Global attention and cooperation for the work of cooperative leaders and policymakers in attending this conference can be expected.
