News Desk, News Nation 360 : In partnership with Khelo Rugby, Future Hope, and Make Calcutta Relevant Again, the Sports Authority of India (SAI) Regional Centre, Kolkata, successfully hosted the Fit India Morning Maidan Olympics at Kolkata's famous Maidan. As part of the national Fit India Movement, the event brought together more than 300 young athletes to celebrate sportsmanship, teamwork, and fitness. Track & Field Races (Sprint, Relay, and Cross Country), Fun Challenges (Tug of War, Obstacle Race, and Piggy Back Race), and Football & Rugby Dribble Contests were among

the many events that took place. Divided into ten teams of thirty kids each, the young athletes showed incredible vigour, excitement, and camaraderie. A Medal Ceremony marked the end of the day, honouring the players' accomplishments and encouraging sportsmanship. Dr Andrew Fleming, British Deputy High Commissioner, praised the Fit India Movement and the Morning Maidan Olympics for promoting a balanced lifestyle among young people. He noted that programs like Fit India help kids balance their education with exercise, which promotes self-control, cooperation, and sportsmanship. The way the Indian government is aggressively encouraging sports—not just to identify elite athletes, but also to create a generation that is healthier, happier, and more resilient—impressed him. Thirty students from Doshisha University in Japan attended the Fit India Morning Maidan Olympics, which enhanced the event's global atmosphere and cultural interchange. To promote global friendship and community cohesion, they engaged with the young athletes, exchanged stories, and eagerly took part in the festivities. Their presence gave the event a special touch and fostered a culture of mutual learning and exchange.
