Startup MahaKumbh Unveils the National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition

News Desk, News Nation 360 : Recently, at Startup Maha Kumbh, the National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition (NBEC), the biggest and most prominent bio-entrepreneurship platform in India, formally opened for applications for its eighth season. The Centre for Cellular and Molecular Platforms (C-CAMP) is organising NBEC 2025, which offers INR 15 crore in cash prizes and investment opportunities. It gives innovators an unmatched opportunity to grow their ideas and create game-changing solutions for the biotechnology industry. Reflecting on the impact of the competition, Dr. Taslimarif Saiyed, CEO and Director of C-CAMP, stated that they are excited to see the tremendous response from bio-entrepreneurs across as NBEC approaches its eighth edition. This forum is now fostering innovative thinkers who are influencing the direction of biotechnology in India and acting as a catalyst for innovation. Their goal is to provide these business owners with the tools, guidance, and funding they need to realise their ground-breaking concepts. The 8th National Bio Entrepreneurship Competition, NBEC 2025, was inaugurated with some of the most prominent personalities present, such as Dr Jitendra Kumar of BIRAC, Prashanth Prakash from Accel India, Rajan Anandan from Peak XV, Padmaja Ruparel from IAN Group, Dr Anand Anand Kumar from Bugworks, Manish Diwan from BIRAC and DBT, and Dr Taslimarif Saiyed from C-CAMP. This year's competition, NBEC 2025, offers some special opportunities to the participants with its dual-track structure open to both startups and individuals and student teams aspiring to enter. Student teams qualify to win a maximum of INR 10 lakh, while startups can win up to INR 15 crore in cash award and investment. Winners will also receive mentorship from top professionals in the biotechnology sector, and shortlisted finalists will undergo an Entrepreneurship Development Boot Camp with specialized training from academic and industry mentors. The competition is centered on top areas like therapeutics, vaccines, healthcare, medical devices, diagnostics, the application of AI and ML in digital health, child and maternal nutrition, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), agritech, food and nutraceuticals, clean energy, environmental biotech, sustainability, and more.
