News Desk, News Nation 360 : Recently in Kolkata, Techno India University, West Bengal, had its annual convocation ceremony at the Biswa Bangla Convention Centre. Approximately 3000 students, including 22 PhD holders and more than 60 Gold Medallists, got their doctorate, postgraduate, and undergraduate degrees. The Honourable Former President of India, Ram Nath Kovind, was the event's chief guest. He captivated the audience with his Convocation Speech. The program exhibited a fitting sense of discipline and patriotism due to the presence of highly-ranked Army, Coast Guard, and Air Force officers in Eastern India. The Convocation Ceremony set new standards for recognising academic achievement and giving students a chance to engage with and hear from today's thought leaders in a variety of professions. Techno India University conferred honorary D.Litt degrees upon a distinguished group of individuals during its convocation ceremony. Recognizing excellence in
diverse fields, the university honoured Dr Partha Pratim Chakrabarti from the realm of Engineering and Science, Shankar Mahadevan for Indian Music, Shabana Azmi for Indian Arts, Gulzar for Indian Literature, Dr Kunal Sarkar for Medical Science, Dr Kali Pradip Chaudhuri for Medical Education, Achyuta Samanta and K. D. Mondal for Education and Social Upliftment, Subhankar Chakraborty as an Educationist, Leander Paes for Indian Sports, and Jogen Chowdhury for Indian Visual Arts. The ceremony also paid tribute to the selfless sacrifice of Late Sep Jayanta Adhikari, underscoring the institution's commitment to fostering patriotism. The university emphasized the crucial role of its alumni network in shaping students' futures and contributing to the institution's growth. Meghdut Roychowdhury, Executive Director and Chief Innovation Officer of Techno India Group stated that they are quite proud of the
exceptional accomplishments of their alumni, who have proven to be incredibly resilient, inventive, and adaptive throughout their academic careers. The combined strength, ingenuity, and tenacity of their students excite them as they prepare for Convocation 2024.
