The 47th Edition of the International Kolkata Book Fair 2024 has Started

News Desk, News Nation 360 : The 47th International Book Fair in Kolkata has started. As usual, Mamata Banerjee, the honourable Chief Minister of West Bengal, gave the fair its opening. The book fair will take place this year from January 18, 2024, to January 31, 2024, spanning 13 days. Sovandeb Chattopadhyay, Minister for Agriculture, Govt. of West Bengal, Vinit Goyal, Joint Commissioner of Police, Kolkata Police, Tridib Kr. Chatterjee, President, Publishers & Booksellers Guild, Gaurav Sharma, IPS Commissioner of Police, Bidhannagar Police Commissionerate, Sudhanshu Sekhar Dey, Honorary General Secretary, Publishers & Booksellers Guild, Dola Sen, MP, Rajyasabha; Krishna Chakraborty, Mayor, Biddhannagar, Biman Bandopadhyay, MLA, Baruipur, Pashchim Assembly Constituency. At the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee awarded Bani Basu the Dr Rama Prasad Goenka CESC Sristi Samman 2024 and a monetary prize amount of Rs 2,00,000. This year participation from nearly 20 nations, including the United States, the United Kingdom, Mexico, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Thailand, Bangladesh, Nepal, Russia, Spain, Peru, Colombia, Argentina, and Mexico has enhanced the

versatility of the fair. In her remarks during the 47th Kolkata International Book Fair's opening ceremony, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee expressed her gratitude to everyone for being present, imploring them to find time in their hectic schedules to read books. She has written 143 books to date, demonstrating her love of writing. Books like Loho Pronam Choray Choray-Part 2, Humble Regards (English Version), Trinamool Sthore Trinamool er Joy, Utsab Sobar (Bengali Version), Festivals for All (English Version), and the new edition of Kabita Bitan with new poems were all launched during the ceremony. Bengal's Built Heritage, Kabita Bitan (English Version), and numerous other resources.
