News Desk, News Nation 360 : To support the growth of the state's IT infrastructure, the West Bengal government hopes to implement several legislation, including those about drones, semiconductors, and the GCC. The state government is trying to provide the structure required to support drone production and research and development in the state, even though the federal government has a drone policy in place. Supriyo described the state government's recent meeting with the top executives of TagoreTech and GlobalFoundries, the third-largest semiconductor chip manufacturer in the world, as "invigorating and fruitful," adding that they had found a location for their R&D facility. The GCC strategy is anticipated to be published before the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), which is set for February 5 and 6, 2025, according to Babul Supriyo, West Bengal's Minister of Information Technology and Electronics. Although the government already has the draft semiconductor policy in place, it is making the "necessary revisions" to make it more "updated" and "attuned" to industry demands. West Bengal has enormous potential, and it will want to work with the state government to establish a Centre of Excellence to support R&D in the drone industry, according to Manjit Nayak, Director, STPI, Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology.
