News Desk, News Nation 360 : The state's health situation has improved over the last ten years thanks to investments of 1.5 lakh crores, with an annual budget topping 20,000 crores. At the 5th edition of The HealthMeet, which was hosted by ASSOCHAM, Y Ratnakara Rao, Secretary of the State Health & Family Welfare Department, stated that the number of medical colleges has tripled over the past 12 years, from 11 to 35, and that the number of MBBS seats has gone from 1300 to 5000+. Highlighting the government’s efforts toward improving healthcare, Y Ratnakara Rao stated that with more than 2000 hospitals and clinics affiliated, the government's main initiative, Swasthya Sathi, has covered 25 million households. The state has seen the opening of 160 free diagnostic centres and 110 fair-priced pharmacies that offer generic medications at 60–70% off. Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities will receive secondary and tertiary level services from the state government through a public-private partnership. In an effort to streamline the licensing process, the government is also re-examining the Clinical Establishment Act. One aspect of conducting business is its convenience, and another is its quickness. Regarding the two points, they would like to increase their focus and develop better policies. HE Maxim V. Kozlov, Consul General of The Russian Federation, highlighting the huge opportunity and synergy between India and Russia in the field of healthcare and pharmacy, stated that Russia and India have historically collaborated in biotechnology, medicines, and healthcare. Indian businesses are well-represented in Russia, providing chemicals and generic medications. Their collaboration has enormous promise in fields including biotechnology, telemedicine, and healthcare infrastructure. They can improve chronic disease management, prevent disease, and advance medical research by pooling their skills.
