The Third Chess Centre of the DD-DBCA Was Opened in Kolkata

News Desk, News Nation 360 : With the opening of their third training facility in Kolkata, the Dhanuka Dhunseri Dibyendu Barua Chess Academy (DD-DBCA) is advancing its mission to develop young players and increase chess accessibility in the city and neighbouring areas. The new centre is part of Rajarhat's Siddha Town residential complex, a quickly expanding residential area. Grandmaster and Arjuna Awardee Dibyendu Barua, an Indian chess pioneer, and Woman International Master Saheli Dhar Barua, who have both been instrumental in forming West Bengal's chess culture, attended the inaugural event on April 20, 2025. Representatives from the Siddha Town Rajarhat Association of Flat Owners joined them, offering their assistance in ensuring the centre's success in the neighbourhood. A new chess centre by Dibyendu Barua Chess Academy (DD-DBCA) was launched in Kolkata, attended by a warm presence of chess enthusiasts, residents, and young aspirants, reflecting growing interest in the game. The centre will officially begin its classes on May 7th, 2025, with sessions held twice a week on Wednesdays and Sundays, catering to students from beginner to advanced skill levels. Coaches trained under the supervision of Grandmaster Barua will lead these sessions, focusing on holistic chess education, discipline, and mental development. This expansion is a significant step for DD-DBCA in spreading the love for chess, nurturing grassroots talent, and contributing to India's increasing prominence in the global chess arena.
