News Desk, News Nation 360 : The inaugural two-day Open West Bengal Boxing Championship was held at Serampur. The tournament was designed to introduce boxing to the masses in West Bengal. Titanium Gym hosted this tournament. It took place on March 22nd and 23rd. The venue was Serampur RMS Ground. The tournament ended with a prize distribution function. Some dignitaries were present at the function. These people comprised Sudipta Roy, MLA of the
Serampur Assembly constituency. Giridhari Saha, the Serampur Municipality Mayor, also came. Gaurmohan De, who is a Councillor of Ward number 8, also came. Joynath Jha, who is a Councillor of Ward number 29, also came. Dara Singh, the Principal of Shivshakti, also came. Some other prominent guests present were Swapan Banerjee, popularly known as Babun, Kunal Shah, and Surjit. These VIPs gave away prizes to the champions. The champions belonged to the Junior, Youth, and Elite categories. They fought in weight classes of 40-75 kg.
