News Desk, News Nation 360 : Recently, the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation's (BMRCL) Yellow Line received the first autonomous Made in India trainset from Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd., a well-known rolling stock manufacturer in India. The first Made-in-India passenger rolling stock, the automated, stainless steel trainset, will operate on the crucial 18-kilometre section that connects the business and technology centre of Electronics City to the rest of the city. The official handover of the Bengaluru Metro Yellow Line trainset reinforces Titagarh's position as a premier manufacturer of advanced trains and highlights India's growing importance in global railway manufacturing. The rollout was celebrated in a virtual event joined by Hon'ble Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal visited Uttarpara, West Bengal, the headquarters of Titagarh, highlighting the manufacturing capacity of Titagarh's Metro Manufacturing Facility there and how innovative manufacturing helps bring improvements to the urban mobility ecosystem in India. It is a landmark achievement, being the first Metro train fully manufactured in India for Bangalore Metro's Yellow Line and the first stainless steel trainset by Titagarh Rail Systems Ltd., reflecting India's progress in indigenization and its alignment with the Prime Minister's vision of a Viksit Bharat. Designed to optimize performance, the trainset features advanced automation, which enables driverless (GOA4) operation, enhancing efficiency. Its sleek design includes modern interiors, low power consumption, sustainability, and high-class safety to ensure a safe and smooth experience for the passenger.
