News Desk, News Nation 360 : Every year on April 2nd, the world observes World Autism Awareness Day to increase public awareness of autism. This year's celebration of the day included a special awareness program for parents in Uttarpara, Hooghly district. Numerous well-known lecturers, parents, and professionals attended the event. Raising awareness of autism and dispelling related myths were the main goals. Renowned Speech-Language Pathologist Dr. Md. Sahidul Arefin stated that autism is only a different perspective on the world; it is not an illness. In the absence of prompt

action, however, this distinction may become a limitation. Parents visit them every day, their eyes filled with anxiety and sadness. The harsh words of society have broken them. It's usual to hear remarks like "The girl doesn't grasp anything" or "Your son will never learn anything." However, they now have effective treatments thanks to current science. People must put aside their superstitions and seek advice from medical professionals and speech-language pathologists. Dr. Arefin has also emphasized that if autism is identified between 3 to 5 years of age and speech therapy is initiated early, a child’s communication, learning, and social skills can improve significantly.
