Nonetheless, the Nrital Chanda Dance Centre has continued its journey for 28 years, embracing the rhythm of dance in poetry, drama, dance, and music. Renowned dance choreographer Sourav Chanda, who founded the Nrital Chanda Dance Centre and is well-known for his work on Zee Bangla, commemorated the 28th anniversary of his dance school on 28th July with a colourful event called "Athashe - E - Athash," which stands for "28 on 28th." Sourav Chanda's exquisite choreography of a mosaic of
dance recitals was on display at the occasion. With a special performance, actress Shonalee Chaudhuri adorned the occasion. A spectacular dance drama named Meera Bai, choreographed by Sourav Chanda and performed by the academy's pupils served as the event's main draw. Sourav Chanda, who is well-known for choreographing Zee Bangla (Dance Bangla Dance), created the dance drama Meera Bai, which was performed all across the nation to positive reviews. An annual cultural event kicked off with a dance recital by students to a Rabindra Sangeet song, followed by a captivating dance drama "Meera Bai." The Nrital Chanda Dance Center showcased a diverse range of dance styles, from contemporary to classical, Bollywood to freestyle, using props like baskets, conical headgear, and winnowing fans for creative folk song performances. The event culminated with two powerful dance dramas: "Debi Chaudhurani," featuring actress Shonalee Chaudhuri's expressive portrayal of the titular character, and "Shri Chaitanya," where she vividly conveyed the emotional turmoil of abandonment. Sujit Bose, Hon'ble Minister-in-Charge, Fire & Emergency Services, Government of West Bengal, officially opened the annual event "28 on 28th" with actress and dancer Indrani Dutta, classical dancer and actress Malabika Sen, actress and dancer Sonalee Chaudhuri, and Bratati Chowdhury in attendance. Speaking on the occasion, Sourav Chanda stated that as his dance
academy, Nrital Chanda Dance Centre, has approached its 28th year, it was particularly significant. For thousands of children, the trip has been an incredible educational opportunity over the years. They have used a variety of dance emotions and moves to depict the essence of life. Additionally, they have launched the academy's new logo, which represents their commitment to innovation, art, and creative excellence. This academy has seen many lives changed by dance, which has made the experience incredibly enriching.
